GAZ Group to introduce debut electric minibus in September
MOSCOW, Jul 19 (PRIME) -- Russian automaker GAZ Group plans to introduce its debut fully electric minibus at a motor show in September, President Vadim Sorokin told PRIME on Wednesday.
The group has developed a unified electric platform, which can be used to produce GAZelle NEXT cars, as well as minibuses and light commercial vehicles (LCV).
A 90 kilowatt engine provides speed of 100 kilometers per hour and has a 120 kilometer range.
“The major problem today is a high price for major electric components, which are 100% imported. GAZ Group in association with the Moscow State University and other partners is developing own electric-driven LCV motor… and battery,” the executive said.
